Aviatrix

Kayli stressed about her school program for months.  Seriously.  When even the thought of people looking at you makes you sick, a school program where each kid has an individual part is terrifying.

Thankfully, she has a sweet teacher who knows her very well.  She thought through Kayli's part very well and gave her a non-speaking, but still very cool part.

Amelia Earhart.

They even had a sweet little plane for her to fly in.

Can you see her down at the front?

Still feeling a little uncomfortable just being in her costume.  That is her pained, shy smile.

Feeling slightly less nervous here.

I love this cute girl of mine.  And I'm so proud of her for combating her fears and walking across the stage in her airplane.

When Guys Make Cake

Bryce's first Blue & Gold Banquet.

When Daddy is making a cake, you've gotta have front row seats.

Meet "The Dark Side of the Moon".

Darth Vader and his lesser known alien minions.

I love these cuties!

Another Mish-Mashed Post

One night my anxiety set in hard and fast.

When a workout at the gym did nothing to help, God sent me this.

I love sunsets.  They nourish my soul.

This night was the cause of my anxiety.  I had to take an entrance exam to be able to apply to my PTA program.  But I got a 94.6% on it.  So, no need for anxiety.  Of course, that was after the fact.

This was after the fact, too.

And this is how Blake kept it real through all the anxiety and hair cutting.

Nothing better than Cootie Bugs after a 20-mile run to keep it real on a Saturday morning.

All this left us pretty exhausted.

Hockey Fun

We decided to take the kids to a hockey game.

Hockey.  Super fun.  Lanaya's face says it all.

So, Lanaya and I decided to have our own fun.

We rock at selfies.

Our take on duck face.

We <3 hockey.="" p="">

Love Love Love

This is year, Valentine's Day was all about family love.

I love these babies.

Even if they don't cooperate for a lovey photo.

Valentine's Day is exhausting.

Blake brought one of these chocolate roses for each of us.  He's such a cute daddy.  And husband.

We had an extra fantastic experience this year.  My mom, Kayli, and I got to go to a special bridal tour of the Provo City Center Temple.  The focus was, of course, on families and how they can be together forever.  It was such a neat experience to be there with my mom and my daughter!

We got up early the next morning to go with the whole family to the regular tour.  It's such a beautiful building!  And if you aren't familiar with the incredible story of how it literally rose from the ashes after being gutted by an accidental fire a few years ago, you can read it here.

And please enjoy the shoe selection in this photo.

Good times with some of my favorite women.

I LOVE these people!

If You Give A Man A Man Crate

He's going to ask you for a crowbar.

And if you give him a crowbar, chances are...

It's still going to take a really long time for him to open his Man Crate.

Sadly, I didn't get a photo of the awesomeness inside the crate.  But it was pretty much everything Sriracha imaginable.  Including a bottle of Sriracha with a spray nozzle.  For even distribution.

'Tis the season for Man Crates.

This one was a Zombie Apocalypse survival kit.

Finding the perfect gift for your father-in-law is not always an easy thing.

Nailed it.

And then we played a game of Cranium after several years of it sitting sort of forgotten on the shelf.  This is the result of an unintentional science experiment with the Cranium clay.  Salt crystals.  So pretty.

Welcome Back to Real Life

This is what Blake came back to:

His coworkers love him.

And he loves them--even if he looks pretty creepy in this photo.

The kids were fortunate to continue enjoying the slopes with their cousins, Grandpa, and uncle.  This time Blake came along and took Lanaya and Trey up the tram for a little fun.

Working on some coded messages from Grandma.

Crazy hair day at school.  You can't see it very well, but they all have yellow hair.  They were more excited about it than it looks.

This happened while we were on our trip.  The morning of her class spelling bee (before we left for our trip), she told me, "I want to do well, but not too well.  Because then I'd have to be in the school spelling bee and people will look at me!"

My poor girl.  Her drive to do her best overpowered her loathing for the spotlight.  She placed in her class spelling bee and had to be in the school spelling bee.  Fortunately, Grandma filled in for us and was there to support and cheer her on.  This time she did well, but not so well that she had to go to the regional spelling bee.  We are so proud of her!  Both because she works so hard in everything she does, but also because she persevered even though it required her to be incredibly uncomfortable and afraid.

How lucky is this--we happened to go out for frozen yogurt on National Frozen Yogurt Day.

She enjoyed hers more than it looks like.

Fun times with this princess!
