Valentine's Date Night

 The Valentine's Daddy Daughter Date continues!  Even with a move halfway across the country.  The only sad part is that this one has a minimum age requirement, so the little one was stuck home with me and the boys.

But these two had a lot of fun.

January Events

January was pretty eventful.

My issues kind of came to a head and I ended up in the hospital for a week.  It was rough, but my doctors and I figured some things out and life started getting better.

And then the wall between the kids' rooms was finished, so we decided to paint.  I love Lanaya's face in this photo.

The kids were so excited to help.

It was really unbelievably stressful.  But their room looks pretty awesome now.

We met up with some cousins at an inflatable play place.

This cute girl played some more basketball.

Trey discovered that my slippers go excellently well with his size 3 pjs that still almost fit.

It's exhausting being so fashionable.

Grandpa's birthday.  Yes, he's recording himself blowing out the candles on his birthday cake.

The Only Way To Hit Double Digits

I know I say it about every child on every birthday, but...

I can't believe my first baby turned 10!

And then we went to the children's museum.  She was off with cousins, so I didn't get any photos, but these two had a great time in the water play place.

And then we had our annual family lip-sync party!  She and I danced together.  I'm pretty sure she was embarrassed by it, but she's just barely still young enough that I can get away with it.

My sisters and I did a rendition of "If You Want to Be Happy".  If you missed it on Facebook, you really missed out.

This was an adorable rendition of "Joy to the World" arranged and produced and performed by all of these beautiful people.

Oh, I love this girl.

She is so sweet and thoughtful.  She is painfully shy and gets stressed over things that I don't understand.  She is the best big sister her siblings could ever ask for.  She is creative beyond belief.  She is currently working on her fourth book!  She's got this super cute, quirky sense of humor.  She knows just how to get me back on track when I'm sure I've failed all of my children miserably with wise words of comfort and reassurance.  So, I must be doing something right.  And I'm forever grateful for her and the gift that she is in my life.

One more post to highlight how amazing my oldest child is.

She wanted an owl cake.  So, I gave her some fondant.

Look how cute!  The cake is a nest, in case you can't tell.  That was my contribution.

This was a joint birthday with one of her favorite uncles.

He's so great and treats these kids like friends.  And makes them feel really special.

And then I have to show off her amazing artwork.

This one is probably my favorite.

And she did basketball too!
